Janusz Tarabuła

Born in 1931 in Cracow. Graduated from the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in 1956. Member of the “Cracow Group” since 1961. His artistic activity was influenced by Arte Povera and the new material aesthetics of the 50’s (cofounder of the “Nowohucka Group), conceptualism and subsequently in the 70’s by the philosophy of nature/ scientific ideas of nature: astronomy, optics and geometry. His highly sublime symmetrical compositions of abstract and figurative elements, expressed through a restricted range of colors, concern ruminations on metaphysical, religious and commemorative motifs.
